Some of the preventive and precaution measures that should be observed in the facilities used by athletes in case of an mrsa infection are: Locker rooms which contain all the equipments that are used by athletes should always be kept clean. Common surfaces that are touched by all athletes and where the skin contact of the players is likely are to be cleaned daily or even twice in a day. Cleaning of surfaces with cleaners and detergents and disinfectants which are effective in killing all germs should be assured. The cleaners that are used should be approved cleaners and household cleaning agents such as chlorine bleach should not be used as when such surfaces are exposed to the skin of the athlete it might cause irritation in eye and asthma symptoms also. Every disinfectant and cleaner will have their own method of being applied on the surface and so the responsible person using such products should follow all the mentioned instructions so that the mrsa infection doesn’t occur due to their carelessness. The cleaners or disinfectant should not be applied on the surface of the skin which is affected wit mrsa infection as they are meant only for cleaning the surfaces. In case any equipment or furniture is damaged or is in a state where it is not possible to fully clean it with a cleaner and disinfectant, such items should be disposed immediately or should not be used by athletes.
